If MiVoice Business detects an alarm, it can send an email message containing details about the alarm to as many as ten different addresses. Likewise, when each process in an unattended software upgrade starts, ends, fails, or is canceled.
The alarms can be filtered by level so that emails are sent for any or all alarms—for example, on Major and Critical alarms or on Critical alarms only.
The email subject line contains the system name if it exists, the system IP address and the system alarm status. For example,
"System Name: ipbx182 System IP: 10.37.140.20 System Alarm Status: Critical"
The alarm details are in the body of the Email and consist of the following:
total in the system
unavailable %
NOTE: MiVoice Business always defaults the sending time zone to GMT-5. Because of this, some Email servers may display an incorrect Email arrival time.
The email subject line contains the system name if it exists, the system IP address, the upgrade event and its status. For example,
"System Name: ipbx182 System IP: 10.37.140.20 Unattended Upgrade <Event> - <Status>"
where <Event> can be "Software Download", "Software Upgrade", or "Software Activation"
and <Status> can be "Started", "Completed", "Failed" or "Canceled".
The email body contains the following:
Event details on <System Name> (<System IP>)
Date: <timestamp>
Event: Software Download | Software Upgrade | Software Activation
Status: Started | Completed | Failed
Detail: <attachment>*
* On completed, failed, or canceled events, the email is sent with a zip file package attached. The package contains a Software Installer trace file and install log files, typically totaling less than 500 kB in size.

Set "Alarm Email Feature Enabled" to Yes. (Not required for email notification of scheduled software upgrade events.)Enter email addresses of the recipients.
Specify the system alarm levels that will trigger MiVoice Business to send an email.
NOTES
Emails are triggered by alarm level changes at the system level, not at the category level. For example, suppose the System Alarm Status in the Alarm Email Notification form is set to Major and the System Alarm Status is at Critical. If a category alarm at the Major level occurs, no email will be sent since the overall system alarm level is at Critical. To ensure that email is sent for all alarm events, enable all the System Alarm Status levels (Clear, Minor, Major and Critical).
If the sender's email address is omitted, the email messages will show "systemname@domain" as the sender in the Email header, where "systemname" is the name from the Network Elements Assignment form and "domain" is the host name from the System IP Properties form. If the address and system name are both omitted, the sender appears as "ipaddress@domain", where "ipaddress" is the IP Address from the System IP Properties form. If the domain name is blank, no email is sent and an error log is posted.
If the email(s) cannot be sent, a Warning maintenance log is generated.
